Summary Trial
The Summary Trial follows the process that was developed for the federal courts and that is widely used throughout the country. In this study, attorneys for each side present combination opening-closing statement summarizing the arguments and witness testimony. Case presentations incorporate examination and cross-examination. Questionnaires gauge juror reactions to each party's live or taped presentation. The study also may include evaluation of graphics or other demonstratives. Monitored jury deliberations identify the most and least persuasive arguments.
